At the beginning of the 1970's, the distributorship turned into an industrial operation. The company began with the manufacturing of ISOTUBEŽ, a pipe insulation out of polyurethane foam, which is still successful today.
In 1977, the company had a major breakthrough: the launch of flexible pipe insulation from extruded polyethylene foam. This was at a time when the oil crisis had already gripped the entire world.
Shortly thereafter NMC developed the first decorative profiles made out of extruded polystyrene foam – clearing the way for the commercial production of decorative elements similar to mouldings. With this new type of product for individualized interior decoration, foam mouldings became fashionable and were seen as an alternative to plaster moulding products.
This success led to the founding of subsidiaries in Germany (1972), Great Britain (1976) and the USA (1979).
